CC with Moby on WFUV
Here's Moby's performance and interview with Kara Manning of WFUV Radio
Wednesday at Joe's Pub!
See Claudia as she appears as a guest performer with Nathann Carrera in their show "The Early Southern Gothicism Of Dolly Parton" Wednesday, November 7th at 7pm.
A violinist, violist and arranger, few performers have been in such genre-crossing demand as Claudia Chopek. Defying musical boundaries, Claudia has shared stages with The Last Shadow Puppets, Father John Misty, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Bruce Springsteen, Moby, Peter Moren (Peter, Bjorn and John), Cassandra Wilson, Donna Summer, Dave Stewart, Jesse Malin, Joe McGinty's Loser's Lounge and Josh Groban, and has appeared on recordings by The Last Shadow Puppets, Hurray For The Riff Raff, TV on the Radio, Norah Jones, Nancy Sinatra, Ryan Adams and The Ladybug Transistor.
To add to her catalog of achievements, CC was a featured performer at the wedding of Chelsea Clinton in 2009 and was a guest performer with comedian Sarah Silverman at the New York Comedy Festival at Carnegie Hall. She thought she hit a career high note when she recently toured the world with The Last Shadow puppets. Little did she know the best was yet to come: She can now be seen playing viola in the Broadway musical “Natasha, Pierre And The Great Comet Of 1812.”
You’ll often hear Claudia’s unique playing style in film, television and commercials: She can be heard in the HBO series "Bored To Death", PBS' "Sesame Street", in commercials for Mastercard and Delta, as well as the 2010 Academy Award winning short film "The New Tenants" as violinist and arranger. She has also appeared on television performing with Sia on Saturday Night Live, with Father John Misty on Late Night with David Letterman, with Ryan Bingham on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”, in the film "The Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience, on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" with Joe Scarborough, and episodes of “Smash” and "Gossip Girl".
As founding member of New Retro Strings, she has performed with artists including Paul Weller and Bonobo. She is one of the founding members of the band Echo Of The Ghost, and is an L.R. Baggs endorsed artist.
